Martin's Mill Resort was named after the lumber mill that originally operated on the site when Delphis Martin and his wife Celina came to the Alban area from Buckingham, Quebec, in the early 1920's. In 1958, one of their sons Aime Martin decided to open a camp on the site and called it Martin's Camp and Trailer Park. The site has changed names and management throughout the years, but the vision continues with the now new management. The focus of 5 fish resort and marina is Seasonal Trailer Sites for families to return to year after year to share and create new memories. There are lots available and will continue to have new sites being added. For those returning docking, launching and storage of boats/pwc/trailers are available. The on-site store is being moved and will be re-done offering sundries, wood for bon-fires, ice and worms for fishing which is a big component of being able to stay on the French River The wonderful beach and play-ground area with the raft to swim

It features a dining room with a seating capacity of 50 guests, a comfortable and cozy lounge, a large kitchen, a confectionery, souvenir and gift shop, a game room with pool table, a kids activity centre and a large screened in deck overlooking the bay. In our lounge you will enjoy satellite dish viewing, a cozy fireplace, tools of days gone by hanging over the fireplace mantle, a piano and a small but very interesting library made up of very old books. You will also find our picture albums with photos dating back many, many years. In our store you find everything you need to make up for the things forgotten at home. You will also find fishing tackle, our own line of clothing and souvenirs. In our kitchen we prepare good wholesome home-made meals for our guests. We assure you that no one leaves feeling hungry. Our meals are pre-set such as our haddock fish fry on Sundays, our roast beef dinner on Tuesdays, our Turkey dinner on Thursday or our steak night on Fridays. All meals are capped with our fresh home-made pies. The dining room overlooking the bay accommodates up to 50 hungry guests at a time. Its old wood plank walls were restored in 2004 to uncover its magnificent history. Its walls are home to several awesome catches from some of our guests. Shuswap Camp, located on the West Bay of Lake Nipissing, similar to many camps in the area had previously been an old logging camp and sawmill. In 1939 Mr. & Mrs. Green purchased the property converting the bunk houses into cabins as well as building additional slab sided cabins. This was the beginning of Shuswap as a tourist camp. Enter Janet & Oscar Dambremonts on 1949. This enterprising couple proceeded to construct a roadway off highway 64 to the camp providing easier access for travelers, many of the original cabins were rebuilt and new cabins added until fifteen were complete. In 1952 a newer, larger lodge was erected allowing more customers for the dine-in experience. Janet and her son Ross continued running the camp until 1980 when it was sold to Joe Massender. Once again the camp went through a facelift period. At this point in time, the lodge dining room was open not only to the camp guests, but also the general public, as it remains to this day. Ownership turned hands in 1989 to the present owners, Heinz & Gerda Loewenberg and Fred Pichler. Since then the camp has undergone numerous and tremendous changes to provide Shuswap guests a relaxing and carefree holiday.
