NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
NEW OFFICIAL PLAN
TAKE NOTICE that Public Meetings will be held for the purposes of receiving public comments and considering the adoption of the proposed new Official Plan for the Sudbury East Planning Area. The Sudbury East Planning Area includes the Municipalities of French River, Killarney, Markstay-Warren, and St.-Charles and the unincorporated townships of Burwash, Cox, Davis, Hawley (except northeast corner), Henry (except Concessions 1 and 2), Hendrie, Janes (west half), Laura, Loughrin (except Concessions 1-3), Secord, Servos, Street (east of the Wanapitae River), and Waldi.
Section 26(1.1) of the Planning Act requires that Official Plans be reviewed and updated at least every five years unless the plan has been replaced by a new Official Plan. The Board’s current Plan was approved in 2010. The Official Plan Review has updated and refined the goals, objectives, policies, and schedules to create a new Official Plan for the Planning Area to ensure that it: conforms with Provincial Plans; has regard to matters of provincial interest; is consistent with the 2020 Provincial Policy Statement; and updates matters of local interest.
The proposed Official Plan applies to the entire Planning Area.
